Hey Now Stern fans. We just hit our 2,000th blog this week. Pretty cool milestone. We have seen some crazy times over the years since our first blog. I have to apologize though because as some of you may have noticed I have not been very active blogging lately. My friggin Starmate broke a few months ago and relying on the web hookup only I started missing the show live. First small chunks, then bigger chunks. Now I am missing whole weeks. Working two jobs 7 days a week, married with children, the Stern show and my internet fun have been taking a big backseat to real life. I now have tons of shows on my MP3 player that I haven't even heard yet. It's amazing to me that a show that I couldn't miss one second of is now something that I barely get a chance to listen to. No more interviews, no more autographs, barely hear the show, very seldom do I watch Howard TV, barely get a chance to go online and blog or hit the message boards, including my own. What the hell is going on here? I finally have a life. Wow, that took awhile.
I did hear the sternshrine.com mention by Artie the other day though. Sweet!!!
I will try and blog when I can. Please keep sending me Stern related articles Stern fans and I will put them up when I get a chance. Keep up the good work Howard and company. One of these days my life is going to settle down some and I can get back in touch with the Greatest Radio Show in the history of mankind, but for now the Greatest Fan in the History of the show isn't tuned in. Crazy times indeed.

Radio hosting is a fluid business in which most hosts, to be blunt, are considered replaceable.
But a few are not. While a thousand people read news on the radio, no one will replace Paul Harvey, who died last month.
Similarly, the arrival of the new top-40 station "92.3 Now" is in a sense final proof that no one has figured out how to replace Howard Stern and what he did over 20 years on terrestrial radio.
Stern's on Sirius XM satellite radio these days, in the fourth year of a five-year deal. He says he loves it, though he's less in the daily conversation. He also says he doesn't know what he'll do when his contract expires. It's safe to say he can do pretty much whatever he wants - and that too reflects how much he accomplished on "regular" radio.
When he left for satellite in 2006, CBS Radio's then-CEO Joel Hollander estimated Stern generated an astonishing 10% of all CBS radio revenue.
It was a lot more than that at his flagship, WXRK (92.3 FM) in New York. The last couple of years Stern was there, WXRK collected more than $50 million in ad revenue, and finance people said about 75% was from Stern.
Mornings are radio's big earning time anyway, but in this case, WXRK's rock format the rest of the day had maybe a quarter of Stern's audience.
When Stern left, Hollander and CBS tried to replace him by committee on his several dozen stations. They hired David Lee Roth for New York and other cities, Adam Carolla for Los Angeles and so on.
They also changed the format of WXRK, turning it into hot-talk "Free-FM."
Roth, one of radio's all-time debacles, was soon replaced with Opie and Anthony, who at one time were seen as the next Stern. That didn't work out. They did well with young men, but didn't get the broader audience and are now just on satellite.
The year after Stern left, WXRK's ad revenue fell below $20 million. CBS dropped Free-FM - too quickly, some felt - to return to the cheaper rock format of K-Rock.
But the revived K-Rock never caught fire, either, which is why it's now "92.3 Now."
Meanwhile, CBS has also dropped Carolla, the last of the Stern successors, and flipped his L.A. station to a top-40 format.
What happens next, who knows? But you can measure the size of Stern's impact by the waves that are still crashing across the pond more than three years after he left.

CHRISTIE KANE IS NAMED MISS HOWARD TV FOR APRIL 2009

Christie Kane has been selected as Miss Howard TV April 2009 for Howard Stern’s Howard TV On Demand subscription video on demand channel. During her first appearance on the Howard Stern Show, Christie readily admitted to Howard that she is “a very sexual person” and says she was very “kinky when she was younger.” At first she was nervous but wound up being very uninhibited, saying it was the first time she ever got naked in public. The Brooklyn, NY native and former dental assistant told Howard how she left dentistry to model full-time. She did, however, take a moment to check out Gary Dell’Abate’s teeth. After starting her own MySpace page, the sexy 29 year old was asked to appear in their first ever calendar as Miss December and then was voted Miss January 2009 by fans. Nicknamed “Metal Barbie” because of her love for heavy metal music, she has made frequent appearances at heavy metal clubs.
Sorry guys, but Christie is married. However she did tell some stories of swinging that had Howard, Artie Lange, Robin Quivers and the gang simply amazed. She loves masturbating and once got caught in the act in a tanning booth! After testing out the favorite studio ‘toy,’ The Sybian, Christie said “I love it so much I want to take it home with me.” Howard enjoyed her appearance on the show so much that he jokingly said, “let’s make her Miss Howard TV for May and June too!”

A. (Chuckles) The reason I have respect for Howard Stern is he has the guts to stand up and utilize his freedom of speech. Sure, some of it is juvenile and raucous, but during the Bush years, he had the nerve to stand up and ask why America was sending men and women out on the battlefields with inadequately armored vehicles. Howard is a masterful interviewer and he throws a good party early in the morning.

A. It was back in 1990. I was doing a play in New York and I was given the assignment by the publicist to go on his show and promote the play. I had no idea who Howard Stern was. So I’m sitting at the studio waiting to go on and they had this radio show playing. I said to the guy sitting next to me, “This conversation is really disgusting!” and he said, “This is the show you’re waiting to go on.”....
